DIY Hook Hanger for Jewelry Organization

I wanted to make a jewelry organizer that would hang in my closet. Thought it might be smart to utilize both sides of the hanger. What do you think?

Supplies:

  • Wooden Hanger (bought mine at walmart, $9.88 for 10 hangers)
  • Size 7/8 Cup Hooks, pack of 40 (A few of mine broke, you may want to buy 2 packs)
  • Pliers
  • Pencil & Ruler
  • Duct Tape

Using your pencil and ruler, mark where you'd like to hang your hooks. I suggest spacing them at least 3/4 inches apart from one another.

Wrap the jaws of the pliers in several layers of duct tape, This will keep the pliers from scraping your cup hooks. Start screwing in each hook by hand. When the screw is stable, finish screwing in the hooks with the pliers.

Turn the hanger around. Mark where you'd like to add hooks. Make sure to stagger your hooks from the other side! I opted to space the hooks a little wider on the back side to keep long necklaces from tangling up.

Done! Guess I need to buy more necklaces :-/.
